For the last eight years, Toyota of South Florida has recognized the dedication of Dade County public school teachers by presenting a brand-new Toyota to each Miami-Dade Teacher of the Year honoree. 
The dealership is planning to do the same for this year’s honoree who will be announced at the Franciso R. Walker Miami-Dade County Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year Dinner on February 3, 2010, at the Doral Golf Resort.
“It’s been seven years since I was named the Teacher of the Year, and seven years since I’ve had my Toyota Corolla,” said Eva Hernandez, a former kindergarten teacher who is now a reading coach at Mae M. Walters Elementary. “Every day my car serves as a constant reminder of just how much Toyota of South Florida really values what teachers do.” Several teachers share a similar sentiment, including last year’s honoree Patricia Fairclough of Air Base Elementary, as Toyota of South Florida presents a car to each Teacher of the Year acknowledging their hard work and commitment to education.
